Villa Del Bene

Located in the village of Volarne, Villa Del Bene is an enormous complex that consists of different buildings which were completed in 1560.

A majestic entrance way, with documented additional work by Michele Sanmicheli, is decorated with a head representing Christ. There is also a sundial with the date 1551 inscribed on it.

The villa is home to a numerous and impressive cycle of sixteenth century frescoes which ornament the stairs, the loggia above the porch, the drawing room and other rooms on the first floor piano nobile of the building.

The villa hosted many prelates from the Council of Trent in the sixteenth century, as well as nobles and personages representing the Serenissima Republic.
